Multiple people die as gunmen open fire on villagers in Zamfara state

No fewer than 11 people have died after gunmen opened fire on residents of Badarawa town in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

According to reports, unknown gunmen invaded the community at about 9:30am today and attacked residents. At least 11 people were killed while about 23 villagers were injured. Some of the victims have been taken to hospitals in the local government and in Gusau, the capital of the state.

The massacre comes after Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari said more people have been killed in his state than in Benue, Taraba and Plateau States.
